Buying rugs is one of those things that you could spend forever planning for, because there are SO MANY (good) options out there. Also, it's a relatively sizable investment for your apartment or home, and making the wrong choice could be a really great way to ruin the feel of your space!
I have three rugs in my apartment, and two of them are constantly featured as the backdrop to my Instagram photos, because when you occupy exactly 601 square feet of living space...you use what you've got!
I was on Wayfair the other day buying some bar stools, and when I clicked on my previous orders I realized that my Pink Rug is still for sale, so I thought I'd share the link to that + then to my other rug we all love, which is from Target.
Okay...upon second review, it is still for sale, but is out of stock until November 2nd. So, better than out of stock forever...? I have the 5'x8' and MAN is it a steal right now!!
Actually, no -- I LOVE working in my new studio-apartment-studio (because we live in a studio apartment + I also use it as a studio, so...) here in the ATL, but I mean, it is kind a downgrade at least in size. The real sad part about all of this is that in our new space, there actually is no place for The Pink Rug. It now lives rolled up under my bed, which is so sad and also a little ironic, as it sits on top of another rug, which I'll show you in a minute.
But first...my other Insta-famous rug from Target!
There are actually several other like it on Target.com right now that are just as cute (even cuter, maybe) than ours. I still love this one, and I think when I purchased it I got the one with a stronger pattern to eliminate the appearance of dirt...? Pretty sure it was that, or there was a really good deal on it at the time, because...I can't resist a good deal, it's one of my weaknesses.
Again, this photo is of our old Living Room, because I don't have any cute ones of our new living room yet. This one is still in action as our living room rug, though I will say, when we got to the new place we rotated the edge because the one closest to the couch was looking pretty trampled! Other than that, though, it's held up really well, and has even survived red wine + taco grease spills, so it's not because we never spill. We do spill, and we do own a white rug. It can be done (as long as you own a bottle of Folex, i.e. magic...I'm serious you guys, but, different topic for a different day).
Right now, I want to introduce the other two rugs I have, which are not nearly as famous or less loved.
This blue one lives in our bedroom (and technically, right now, so does The Pink Rug because it's being stored under the bed! Just for now...) and I ultimately chose it for the texture. Yum.
Sorry for the not-so-blogworthy picture, but I had to share because this sweet little guy is now playing center stage in our walkthrough-kitchen! At fist, I thought a printed rug might look really...well, printed and not woven. But then I realized that the kitchen is the perfect place for a printed rug, because I wouldn't want to ruin a good rug that way, and I totally would. So, I went for it + I'm so glad I did! Except now I kind of want the one in the link, too...
Alright, friends. That's all I have to say about rugs, for now!
